Dubai International Airport Immigration Service tightens passport control

More than 490 fake passports were confiscated while trying to pass immigration control at Dubai International Airport from July to December 2007.

Commenting on the results of the work of the Immigration Control Service of Dubai International Airport over the past six months, the team leader Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, director of the Department of Naturalization and Residency of Dubai, noted significant improvements in its work, primarily in terms of tightening controls at the UAE border.

According to statistics from the past six months, 2,611 people were detained and handed over to the police according to a retinal scan. More than 5% of detainees are in the UAE in criminal matters.
