UAE created the world's first water with vitamin D

The United Arab Emirates began production of drinking water with vitamin D.

Dubai, UAE. The Emirate's Agthia Group is the first company in the world to launch the production of drinking water containing vitamin D: an orange 500 ml Al Ain Vitamin D bottle will cost 2 dirhams. Water can already be found on supermarket shelves in the UAE.

One bottle of water contains 50 IU of the recommended daily intake of vitamin D. According to studies, 78% of UAE residents suffer from a deficiency of vitamin D, which increases the risk of developing some chronic and infectious diseases, including tuberculosis.
