More than 9.5 thousand cars were recalled in the UAE

In the UAE, nearly 10 thousand cars of the 2016 and 2018 models of Toyota and Land Rover were recalled.

More than 9.5 thousand cars of 2016 and 2018 models were recalled to the UAE by various manufacturers due to technical defects, including the risk of fire in some of them.

Al-Futtaim Motors, Toyota's official distributor in the UAE, has recalled 9332 Hilux cars and 41 2016 Prius cars due to airbag problems.

“These vehicles are equipped with an airbag system with pressure sensors and / or G sensors that determine the effect on the vehicle. There is a possibility that the insulation inside the sensors may wear out over time, which will lead to an airbag error signal. In addition, side and / or front airbags may stop working, which in turn can have a disastrous effect on passengers in the event of an accident, "distributors say.

Representatives of Al-Futtaim Motors reported that they contact the owners of the above models, recording them for diagnosis.

Toyota recalled more than 700,000 cars in January due to airbag problems.
Land Rover distributors in the UAE Al Tayer Motors and Premier Motors have recalled 11 Discovery Sport, 102 Evoque, and 52 Velar models to replace the fuel rail.

The manufacturer’s statement said that in these models, the end caps are not sufficiently soldered to the fuel rail, so they may not be tight enough.

"This can cause leakage of vapors and drops of fuel into the engine compartment. Drivers can smell the fuel and, when raising the hood, see a gas leak, which could cause a fire when the fuel comes in contact with a sufficiently hot surface," the automobile group said.

Both distributors assured that they would contact customers and inform them of the recall of the vehicles.
