Smart parking tickets appeared in Dubai that do not need to be left on the dashboard.
Dubai, UAE. New “smart” parking tickets began to be issued in Dubai: now, after paying for parking in the terminal, motorists no longer need to return to the car in order to leave the ticket on a dashboard, as was previously required.
The first touch screen terminal is located in the Jafilia area, next to the metro station. Now, before choosing a payment method (coin or card), the motorist must enter the license plate number of the car. The issued coupon will essentially be a check for payment, and the electronic ticket will inform the Dubai Roads and Transport Committee that parking has been paid.
Previously, electronic coupons were issued only when paid through the MParking mobile application or SMS, and an additional fee was charged. One of the advantages of the new electronic tickets for regulatory authorities is that they cannot be transferred to others, as drivers who freed up a paid parking space ahead of time often did.
