In the UAE launched an application that introduces everyone to the nature of the country

A unique project has been launched in the United Arab Emirates that helps people learn more about the country's natural landscape.

Young people in the UAE can now use their smartphones to enjoy all the beauty of the country's nature, as part of a new nationwide campaign.

A program called Connect with Nature aims to encourage young people to go outside — to the beaches and deserts — and to truly understand and appreciate the importance of nature and learn about ways to preserve it.

Laila Mustafa Abdul Latif, CEO of Emirates Nature-WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature), said that young people can join the program through the site and a mobile application that will be launched in the near future.

Laila demonstrated the capabilities of the program at the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, while in the "virtual wadi."

The application is designed to inspire young people to reveal the secrets of the natural world in 30 points of the country, including the Al Wathba nature reserve, Saadiyat Marine National Park, Al Ain Oasis and Al Qudra Lake.

“By visiting one of these places, they can receive the calls that the application provides, such as hiking, climbing, and so on,” Laila said.

The platform also offers special workshops and opportunities for exploring the local environment through civilian research projects and research programs to measure the impact of climate change on local biodiversity.

The Connect with Nature program launch ceremony took place on Saturday, January 19, in Abu Dhabi at Umm Al Emarat Park. At it, guests were shown the capabilities of the new project.

To join the platform, you must register on the Emirates Nature-WWF website.
