Dubai, which hosted more than 10 million tourists last year and plans to host twice as many in 2020, was the first Arab city open to virtual guests on Google Street View.
The shooting that began in the spring was interrupted during the summer, when visibility deteriorates due to high humidity, so Dubai skyscrapers appear to virtual tourists in all its glory. In accordance with Google’s policy, the faces of passers-by caught in camera lenses on the streets of old Dubai are made unrecognizable, as are the license plate numbers on its freeways.
