Automatic taxi will appear in Dubai

A system of personal automatic transport, resembling a tram, can be created in Dubai to solve problems with closed roads of regional significance.

It will be small gondola cabs that move along a strictly specified route along rails, gutters, cables or other guides, without intersecting with roads in at least one plane.

In the UAE, this system has been tested in the city of Masdar (Abu Dhabi) - the prototype of the "green" city of the future. Launched in 2010, a pilot project of this system served 819 thousand passengers over three years of operation. Small cabins, designed to carry no more than six people, move automatically from the point of departure to the destination, connecting a larger public transport network (such as the metro) with office, commercial, entertainment or residential facilities. Such systems can also connect separately standing parts of a huge complex, for example, airport terminals.
