Dubai Municipality begins to turn the Hatta Mountains into a major tourist center

In Dubai, the implementation of the first group of eco-tourism projects in the Hatta region has begun.

The municipality of Dubai announced that it has embarked on the first group of projects under the plan to turn the Hatta Mountain District into a major tourist center, launched by the Dubai government in 2016.

Speaking on this occasion, the head of the Hatta Center in the municipality of Dubai, Omar Saeed Al Mutaway, said that the first group of projects was aimed at developing the infrastructure of the economic and tourism sectors and increasing the competitiveness of the Hatta based on the natural and social resources of the district. He confirmed that the projects included work at the Al Sheraa Heritage Site, the construction of 30 public recreational areas and the construction of a 2-kilometer track.

Al Mutaiwei added that the Al Sheraa project is being implemented in several stages. The provision of fencing, lighting and laying of footpaths along the route, covering the sights of the area, belong to the first stage.

The municipality of Dubai will arrange 30 environmentally friendly recreation areas for camping and barbecue for visitors and tourists in the Hutt. Dubai Municipality will also build a series of connecting roads between farms to provide tourists and visitors the opportunity to enjoy real life in the Hutt. The route will pass through the Hatta Heritage Village, Hatta Kayak and Hatta Dam. The tracks will also become one of the routes of the Hatta Hiking project.

A comprehensive district development project is estimated at 1.3 billion dirhams ($ 353.9 million). It aims to increase the social and economic attractiveness of the region and develop it as a center of eco-tourism.
