10 years of success - they won’t catch up with us!

13 GOLD, 11 SILVER, 9 BRONZE - A head-spinning victory for Russian athletes who took first place in the Olympic Games in Sochi, will still not be leaving the countries of the Press. I CAN'T STAY SIDE AND JOIN THE NUMEROUS CONGRATULATIONS. GO RUSSIA! And NOW ABOUT OTHER PLEASANT MOMENTS WHICH IT'S TIME TO REMEMBER ABOUT.

It's hard to believe, but Russian Emirates magazine turned 10 years old. Now you have in your hands the jubilee, sixtieth edition of our publication. But it seems that everything was only yesterday - they discussed the idea, chose a format, typed a team, wrote the first articles, chose a picture for the cover, before going to print the first issue did not sleep at night.

I leaf through a magazine that saw the light in the distant 2004, and each headline gives rise to memories. It turns out that it is very exciting to compare the expectations and facts of past years with the realities of today.

"The delegation of the Russian Orthodox Church in the UAE" - then Metropolitan Kirill of Smolensk and Kaliningrad, during his visit to the UAE, announced the receipt of official permission to build a temple in Sharjah. Today, the first temple of the Russian Orthodox Church on the Arabian Peninsula is built and is operational.

Moscow-Invest 2004 - More than a hundred businessmen and dozens of officials led by Yuri Luzhkov discussed with their Arab colleagues the prospects for developing bilateral relations. Then Luzhkov called the figure of 90 million US dollars, and today trade between our countries has grown to a record 2.5 billion US dollars.

"Russian technologies in the Arab market" - In the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, problems of increasing the efficiency of desalination of sea water were discussed. The problem is still relevant.

"Concert of the group" Lyceum "and Murat Nasyrov" - A VIP ticket to the nightclub MIX cost breathtaking for those times 500 dirhams. Today, completely different artists come to Dubai, and for that kind of money you can only get to the gallery.

"Hello, we're looking for talent." - it was under this heading that we opened a new section, talking about the wonderful artist Abdul Manap Kulduyev. He left the United Arab Emirates, but the connection with him was not interrupted and he continues to send us greetings from his native Makhachkala.

"Gold placers of the United Arab Emirates" - Our good friend Dmitry Kuznetsov, a jewelry designer, taught readers of the magazine how to choose and buy gold. Ten years have passed, and gold from Dubai is still popular with our tourists.

"Veterans of Soviet hockey on Dubai ice" - Russian masters easily dealt with Canadians and Swedes from the local team “Mighty Camels”. So the one who, commenting on the victory of the Sportima team in the Dubai tournament in 2013, called it the "first tournament of its kind", to put it mildly, wrong! And the tournament is already seven years old, and our hockey players on Arab ice have already won. Read the magazine "Russian Emirates", leaf through the binder!

And then we wrote about the successes of Russian karateka (the Mitrofanov trio) who successfully performed at the Okinawan Karate World Cup in Dubai, about Haute Couture Week, about the rules of tanning under the scorching emirate sun, about water activities and about new Dubai districts. This is more than two hundred pages in the magazine today, and then everything fit in a modest sixty-four, but each of these pages was worth its weight in gold for us.

Ten years ago, in March 2004, we held in our hands our brainchild, smelling of fresh printing ink, and we were sincerely proud and happy - what was yesterday only in dreams and plans became visible and tangible. On the eve of the tenth anniversary with sincere warmth, I want to say thanks to those without whom the project would not have been possible - friends and partners, the best team in the world, old and new customers, as well as our faithful readers.

Thanks you! And see you soon on the pages of our publications!
