Spirit of nature Van Cleef & Arpels Exhibition VAN CLEEF & ARPELS HIGH JEWELRY ART FRENCH HOUSE ALREADY THE FIFTH YEAR CONTRACT IS THE PARTNER OF THE DESIGN DAYS DUBAI INDUSTRIAL DESIGN EXHIBITION. THIS TIME IN A JEWELERY COMPANY DECIDED TO RETURN THE PROBLEM OF NATURE, WHICH IS KEY AT THE EXHIBITION IN 2016. DESIGNERS OF A HOUSE WITH A VANDOM AREA, KNOWN BY THEIR FINDABILITY, EXCEEDED MYSELF: THE EXHIBITIONS OF THE SPIRIT OF NATURE (“SPIRIT OF NATURE”) ARE BEAUTIFUL EXECUTIONS OF THE JEWELERY.
In their quest to establish the mastery of Nature, Van Cleef & Arpels designers used stones of rare beauty and created a collection of surprisingly feminine jewelry and watches: they tried to capture the natural world as it is - fluid, variable and constantly updated. Nature is also praised by designers in the collections of Pierres de Caractère Variations and Seven Seas.
The exhibition also features a collection of Jewels that Tell the Time watches: these "works of art" combine luxury and technical excellence.
In addition, the company will present legendary products from the Heritage collections and the private collection of Van Cleef & Arpels, - it is supervised by Catherine Cariou, director of the company's heritage. These jewelry items, some of which date back to the 20 years of the last century, are the quintessence of Van Cleef & Arpels style: each of them tells its own story, which make up the history of the House.
Heritage Collection
The history of one of the most famous jewelry houses today began in 1906, when Alfred Van Cleef and Estelle Arpels opened their first store on Place Vendome in Paris.
At the Design Days Dubai exhibition, jewelry, watches and accessories will be presented, as well as archival drawings, sketches and documents from the very beginning of the brand's inception. Visitors will see more than 100 exhibits from the private collection of Van Cleef & Arpels and learn what motives of the plant and animal world have been inspired by the designers of the House for more than 100 years.
Pierres de Caractere - Variations
The Pierres de Caractère - Variations collection is an ode to gemstones, their captivating shades and the feelings that they evoke. Jewelry from this collection is distinguished not only by rare stones, but also by dazzling color combinations.
Similar combinations of materials have been used by Van Cleef & Arpels since the 60s and 70s and continue to inspire ever more daring solutions. This is a symbol of the new heights that jewelry has reached, a symbol of rare grace; it is the perfect combination of courage and outstanding craftsmanship. In this collection, designers also pay tribute to the trips of the Arpels brothers in Asia and India in the 50s and 70s: in these travels, they managed to acquire completely unique gems.
Seven seas
Like a travel magazine, the Seven Seas jewelry collection contains treasures and memories translated with precious stones into the language of fine jewelry. The turquoise waves of the Mediterranean Sea and the Adriatic, the Arabian Sea and the Caspian flicker. The depths of the Atlantic and Indian oceans shine, precious stones reminiscent of the shores of the Black and Red Seas with their luster. The Seven Seas collection is dedicated to the seven seas. However, this time, the House a bit moved away from its usual practice and created something that did not quite fit into the usual framework. According to Nicolas Bo, president and CEO of Van Cleef & Arpels, Seven Seas embodies the idea of a “cruise collection,” similar to the fact that each year they produce various fashion houses for traveling on yachts.
Creative shores
The colors of the coasts and oceans inspired the creators to make each piece of jewelry from the Seven Seas collection. In addition, this collection is also an imaginary journey to the distant fabulous shores of those times when the romantic concept of "seven seas" meant all the oceans of the world; when for the British sailors "to cross the seven seas" meant an absolutely impossible task - to sail to the very end of the world (East Indies) and return back.
In the endless depths of the waters surrounding the Renaissance Europe, unprecedented adventures awaited the brave explorers: it was this atmosphere of overcoming that the masters Van Cleef & Arpels tried to convey.
Combining myths and reality, this collection pays tribute to the rich history and infinitely diverse wildlife of the famous water areas.
Magic shades of the sea wave are washed by rings, earrings, bracelets and necklaces, and bright gems, which are laid out images of marine creatures, add to the jewelry of life and mobility.
Secrets of Mastery
The jewelry at Van Cleef & Arpels awakens many different emotions in the soul. It is impossible not to admire their lightness and grace, the subtlety of work, the perfection of design and the beauty of precious stones. This is real poetry of a frozen moment.
Upon closer inspection, the absolute perfection of Van Cleef & Arpels products is even more striking: on the metal surface you will not find a single unevenness, and it seems that the energy accumulated by each precious stone for many thousands of years seems to flow outward. This year's jewel at Design Days Dubai is jewelry that shows time. Van Cleef & Arpels designers combine bold shapes with timeless elegance. From this union are born true masterpieces - chronographs, which are at the same time an example of high jewelry art.
The hit of the collection was the unique ruby Rubis Secret Watch bracelet, in which miniature watches that are advanced when you press an externally inconspicuous button are skillfully hidden. The novelty was first presented at the Geneva Salon of Fine Horlogerie in January 2016. Watches are made in a single copy (Piece Unique).
